This is just a study in perspective and lighting effects. All elements were created manually in The GIMP 2.2.11. I was playing around with various lighting methods, as well as the use of noise to create soil & cloud textures. Also played around with creating a steel/metallic frame using multiple gradients. To my surprise, a keeper emerged! Too bad I started it smaller than a normal hi-res pic... Anyway, here's a study... Worth developing further into a full scale pic? Thoughts?
Thanks! Did that one a while ago, learned a LOT from it actually. Lighting is everything, methinks. It can make or break a piece with just the slightest degree of variation. The more I play with it the more I learn that I have a lot more to learn
You should develop this into a full sized picture.
I have to try something like that.
